German Chamomile Tincture (Matricaria chamomilla)
This tincture works great to support good digestion, sleep and has properties to assist with anxiety. Phenolic compounds found in the flowers include hydroxycinnamic (HCs) acid derivatives and studies have reported that HCs and their derivatives act as powerful antioxidants.
(1:5, 40% A: 60%W) For anxiety Adults take 30-40 (1.5 to 2 ml.) 2-3 x daily as needed. For sleep, take a higher dose (up to 60 drops, 3 ml)
Those with allergies to plants in the daisy family such as aster, chrysanthemum, ragweed, marigold, and daisy and with bleeding disorders should avoid taking Chamomile. Always discuss the use of herbs with your healthcare provider first. Do not use during pregnancy or lactation as it may act as a uterine stimulant and run the risk of miscarriage.
